New Paintings and Tapestries, 2013

We are delighted and excited to present a joyous new suite of work by the Sydney based artist Louise Tuckwell. For a number of decades now Louise has steadfastly worked on her interpretation of hard edge abstract painting.
 
With this, the third solo exhibition at the Damien Minton Gallery, she has broken through into a new mature phase using the formalist play of colour against colour; shape and edge meeting shape and line. A sense of harmony and poetry are evoked, seducing the eye and the spirit.

Louise’s art practice has been well respected since exhibiting at Olsen Carr Gallery in 1996. A graduate of the National Art School in the eighties after attending the Julian Ashton Art School, her work graces many private collections as well as the MCA, Artbank, New England Regional Art Museum and the corporate collection of the national law firm Allens.
