Outside over There

We welcome back Heidi Jackson with a new suite of 40 paintings on paper. A small selection of the work is on view above.

“Many of these works are views out to Taranga and Marotiri Islands in Northland, New Zealand and refer to the structured configuration of the landscape there: burnished water, sky and land.  The opaque mass of Macrocarpa and Pohutukawa in a foreground, the dark, built energy of sky and cloud at the end of the day beyond… Others describe the scenery down the central flatness of the Desert Road and move into the glacial country, across the Canterbury tablelands and into the mineral blacks and pallor of the South.”
